If there’s one day of the week that means something to you, which one would it be?

For us, it’s Saturday.

It’s more of an idea than simply a day of the week. You might consider it a mental release or freedom from responsibilities where anything is possible. It’s you, standing outside in the rain with your head towards the sky and arms out while wet drops of rain softly fall on your face. You’re open to the world and totally immersed instead of watching life pass you by.

Some of the most awe-inspiring, fantastic events of our life have fallen on a Saturday. I married the most amazing woman I’ve ever known on a Saturday. So many life-changing, incredible memories have fallen on this day. On the downside, one of the worst days of my life happened on a Saturday, when my dad died. It’s the one day of the week that has always worked out to be a time of discovery, learning, and a day lived in full color.

Sometimes it’s amazing and sometimes it hurts, but Seeking Saturdays is the idea of living the life you want. That got me thinking, how could we live life with MORE Saturdays? How could we set up our life where we included more of what we want and less of what we didn’t?

We’re Seeking Saturdays.

We crave adventure and love traveling to new places, but we also cherish our life back home with a community of people who we enjoy spending time with. Walks through our garden to see life growing is heaven and a reset of the soul. It’s the same when we’re cooking a fresh, colorful meal at home with wine and music playing.

Oh, by the way, did I mention we’re fanatic salsa dancers?

We’re not here to tell you what you SHOULD do. That’s up to you. We’re simply sharing our journey to the life we’ve always dreamed including the good times, the setbacks, and the mishaps.

Our bucket list is extensive and ever growing. Maybe we’d like to backpack the entire length of the Appalachian Trail one day? Or maybe relax in Quebec City on the grassy Plains of Abraham with a good book in the summer? How about dropping everything and traveling with friends to some far-off, exotic place that we didn’t even know should be on our bucket list?

Or… maybe we want to slow down for a bit, tend our garden, and spend quality time with family and friends? Maybe we’ll focus all our time on our passion for dance?

Or maybe we’ll mix it up and do it all!

Put another way, Seeking Saturdays means seeking more days that immerse us in this remarkable life. We’ll explore our vast world, taste the flavors, and do it on our terms. The end goal is to transform more days of the week into what we’d like them to be.

And we’ll be vlogging and blogging the whole way to share the journey with you!

Very awesome and I echo your feelings on a day meaning the most amazing things and the worst things that can happen. That is why I have stopped planning for “tomorrow” and “next year” and am now living in the present.

Thanks Josh. I love the moments where we feel totally alive and in the moment. If only we could all do that more. We feel the same. Getting out in nature on hiking trails definitely slows it down for us!
